Chinese enterprises made non-financialdirect investments of RMB72.18 billion in 54 countries along the Belt and Roadfrom January to July this year, up by 33.2% year on year (or USD10.27 billion,up by 28.9% year on year), taking up 17% of the total over the same period oftime with an increase of 4.5 percentage points from the previous year. Theinvestment mainly flew to Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia,Cambodia, the Philippines, Lao PDR, UAE and Kazakhstan.

Regarding the overseas contracted projects,the number of the newly-signed contracts by Chinese enterprises in 60 countriesalong the Belt and Road amounted to 2,641 with a total contract value ofRMB472.15 billion, taking up 55.2% of China’s total contract value of thenewly-signed overseas contracted projects over the same period of time, goingdown 3.9% year on year (or USD67.18 billion, down by 7% year on year). Theturnover reached RMB284.15 billion, taking up 57.8% of the total, down by 6%year on year (or USD40.43 billion, down by 9.1% year on year).
