Indonesia’s Central Bureau of Statistics released a trade report on September 16. In January-August 2019, Indonesia’s foreign trade volume was US$221.96 billion, decreasing by 9.1% year on year. Of the total volume, the exports amounted to US$110.07 billion, decreasing by 8.3% year on year and the imports were US$111.88 billion, decreasing by 9.9% year on year. The accumulative trade deficit was US$1.81 billion.
In January-August 2019, the trade volume of non-oil and gas products between China and Indonesia was US$44.42 billion, decreasing by 2.1% year on year. Of the total volume, Indonesia’s exports to China, its largest export destination, amounted to US$15.95 billion, decreasing by 4.0% year on year, accounting for 15.7% of its total export; Indonesia’s imports from China, its largest source of import, totaled US$28.47 billion, decreasing by 1.1% year on year, accounting for 29.2% of its total imports.
